Crain's List Market Update

The latest Crain’s list is out and it provides some interesting information. First and foremost, our gap between our largest competitors has widened. Most brokers on the list reported a reduction in sales in 2005. Our next two largest competitors had reductions at 13.8% and 9.6% respectively. Our gap over the #2 broker moved from 166% larger to 188% larger.



In these times when we are having as many conversations about expenses as we are about income, it is worth noting that, based on the 2005 numbers, our competition is in the same position, and in most cases, are not fairing as well. This market certainly has it challenges but take note of your MLS figures and you will see that there are still buyers in the market with a surprising number of markets keeping pace with last year.
